Spay & Neuter

Spay or Neuter Your Pets!

Every adoption through Humane Society of Fremont County includes a free spay/neuter. If the animal is too ill to be sterilized at the time of adoption, a $50.00 refundable deposit is required by state law (HB 08-1185). A $50.00 Administrative Fee will also be added to your deposit to ensure compliance for spay/neuter. The entire $100.00 deposit will be refunded when proof of sterilization is provided and verified by a veterinarian. If your pet is not spayed/neutered during the specified period, your deposit will not be refunded and local animal control will be notified about the non-compliance.

By spaying or neutering your pet, you’ll help control the pet homelessness crisis, which results in millions of healthy dogs and cats being euthanized in the United States each year simply because there aren’t enough homes to go around. There are also medical and behavioral benefits to spaying (female pets) and neutering (male pets) your animals.

If you would like to have your pet spayed/neutered, Humane Society of Fremont County has low cost spay/neuter vouchers available for local Fremont County residents. Please contact Humane Society of Fremont County for more information about this program.
